I think that all the groups did really well. I learned so much more about my group and the others. One group was talking about anxiety. And I was diagnosed a long time ago with anxiety. And my anxiety would cause my asthma attack to start. That really stuck out to me because it is so common nowadays because so many people have bad anxiety or depression, and most people are not wanting to seek help, so I was very glad that they were saying to talk to a therapist or to get help. I think that most people think that if they talk to a therapist or a psychiatrist, they are crazy, or people might call them crazy. This is not the case; most people just can’t handle as much stress as other people, and most people think that when someone is going through something traumatic to them, they are being dramatic. Anxiety has a lot of triggers. Anxieties can be caused by a lot of things. Anxiety has a lot of different categories. I didn’t know that OCD was part of anxiety. I guess that makes sense because I have OCD. My mom likes to say I nag a lot. I don’t mean to I just like everything in the right place.
The next group talked about autism. I have heard about autism, but I never really knew what it was. When I was in school, I was around a lot of people with it, but the people I was around were so smart, like how they just remembered things. The group said that there are a couple different types of autism. There were three different types of autism. There was autism, Asperger’s syndrome, and pervasive developmental disorder (also known as PDD-NOS). They told us how and where we could help. I do know that we can have an autism awareness month.

And we also have to run. There is also the Ausome scholarship program. I know that there are also camps that people with autism can go to.
My group talked about specific learning disabilities. We talked about a couple of different ones, but the three that stood out to me were dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD. I feel like those were the most common disabilities in our presentation. We hear about ADHD a lot. And how people with ADHD have to get medicine, or how people with ADHD move a lot or can’t sit still. Dyslexia is a learning disability, and I mostly heard about dyslexia in school. Dyslexia also has a World Dyslexia Awareness Day. It is October 8. I also learned that dyslexia is very challenging. Dysgraphia is also a learning disability. It affects people's writing. dysgraphia has a dysgraphia awareness day starting this October 3. We also talked about things that can cause a visual disability, like smoking, drinking alcohol, and diabetic blood pressure problems. We also talked about things that can help prevent a visual disability, like making sure you get your lab exams and screening done, wearing eyeglasses, and exercising regularly. We talked about programs and things you can do to help or get better with your learning disability. One of the programs is LDA.
