Blog#2 Christopher Dennert
Welcome to SPC1017, or rather Introduction to Communication. Today I will be reviewing the group projects that groups one, two, and three presented on May 29th and the 31st; and today I will give you my opinions on each presentation.
The group that started first was Group Three and their presentation started with their study guide. The members of the group included Tailynn Lorenz, Zainab Awale, Nicholas Mejia, Nickolas Novoa, Michael Consuegra, Monica Zambrano, Paulette Landivar, and Vickiana Nazario. Their presentation started off with an introduction by the members of the group to each of their topics in the study guide. The Introduction brought the audience a general idea about the topic they each chose to do. Then they started off with their PowerPoint on the topic Anxiety. I like how simple/easy they made it for the audience to understand. I liked how the presenter gave the audience good in-depth details and personal examples about the topic and enjoyed the pictures that represented each topic. Continuing with the presentation on anxiety, I liked the pictures used in them and also enjoyed them using the pictures to describe the topic. I also liked how informed they were on these topics, knowing all these different roles and the responsibilities of these different roles. I liked how they were giving out good information that I and others would be able to use personally. I liked the historical background of anxiety and how it came to be, the presenter made it flawless in their research on it. Throughout these slides, I was fascinated by the in-depth discussion of anxiety and all the different information I learned about it from this presentation. I liked the way they styled their presentation to match the theme; and I liked how they represented the topics that were discussed. Overall, the Group three presentations gave the audience new in-depth information on their topic Anxiety, and I learned a lot more about it.
The group that presented after group three was group two. Group Two’s presentation was on Autism. The presenters were Jasmine Monteiro, Luis Corniel, Maya Remirez De Estenoz, Lisbeth Triana, Katherine Pineda, Leonardo Preciado, Henry Aguirre, Jesus Pazo Gomez, and Kameron Presume. Group two starts their presentation on their study guide. What I liked about the study guide were the keen information they presented on the different terms for the chapters they researched. I also liked how informed the presenters were on the subjects they presented. The following was their presentation on Autism/ Disabilities. Starting off, I liked how the presenter gave a quick analysis on the topic before going into it. During the presentation, I liked that these slides were detailed with information on the historical background of autism. I liked the picture they used because it shows the audience the people that first made a term for autism. Following this information of autism in the 70’s/80’s. What I liked about this slide was that it basically shows the audience what it is and how serious autism was. Another slide I was interested in was the different types of Autism. I liked this slide because it demonstrates the different symptoms between the different types of autism, and it is very important in today’s society to know the difference between them. Continuing it was the Autism Society of America. What I liked about this slide was learning that there is a group dedicated to helping people with autism. Overall, I enjoyed this presentation by group two because it taught me very new things about autism and the different symptoms it has.
The last group to present was my group. Group one presented on Specific Learning Disorders. This presentation was created by Daniella Liscano, Ashley Dominguez, Albania Gonzalez, Claudius Bartlett, Giovanna Neves, Carlos Alonso, Carlos Acanda, Maria Valeria De Sousa, and me Christopher Dennert. Our presentation starts off with the study guide. I liked our study guide because we gave great information on the chapters we did and the key terms for them. The following was our PowerPoint on Specific learning disorders, I liked our slides because they included great information on each of the learning disorders, we each choose. Continuing this presentation, another one I liked was the videos. The videos were very informative on each of the learning disorders and made it easy to understand them. Overall, group one’s presentation on Specific Learning Disorders is very informative and well done. This presentation had lots of information that is highly important in today’s world and many videos that represented the importance and understanding of the topic.
In Conclusion, Groups one, two, and three presentations were all wonderfully done and presented. I was able to gain new information on all these different subjects that I hadn’t known in depth beforehand and with this new information I have learned, it will help me with understanding certain people characters and knowing how to make them feel comfortable.
Very nice post. I agree it is very important to understand all people.
