MARIA DE SOUSA BLOG #1

In the Introduction to Communication class, my classmates and I organized ourselves to make a power point presentation and even a presentation on certain topics that our teacher Sherri Sinkoff gave us to choose from. The university platform had a series of documents within its modules that were going to help us, based on the assigned chapter, to be able to define what each person in our group would do and how the topics would be carried out by everyone made up of it. I belong to group number one, therefore we had to be more than ready since at the time we thought that we could be the first to appear before the class with all the audiovisual materials. We all got to work, and everyone did their part to make a great presentation.

In each presentation of each group, not only topics referring to chapters that have to do with the content of the subject were explained, but also arguments that helped to understand it, so that the person who did not belong to that presentation could be aware. What they were talking about and what it was all about. All of them had good audiovisual support material, significant use of vocabulary and good control of the content itself that facilitated their understanding. My group was in turn in charge of presenting a series of topics referring to chapter number 3. This was a chapter that covered a lot of cultural issues and their relationship with communication, which I found fascinating and at the same time complicated, because the same communication varies depending on the same culture in each country. I feel like it was an exceptionally good chapter to develop a lot of ideas and the content was certainly quite extensive. Our idea as a group was to make a transcendental presentation, with relevant content and with many good things to offer on an intellectual level. The mission was not only to captivate, but to inspire those who want to know and fill themselves with knowledge of immense value and importance.

We prepared and we were meticulous when presenting the content, to make it engage and pleasing to the eye. It was all a question of organization, audience study and the desire to do things correctly. The content was made with an informative purpose, which was relevant and interesting, so it was also necessary to solidify our information with firm arguments and bases. The impact was to raise awareness of each culture that is around us and truly analyze in a certain way the behavior that we human beings have in the different scenarios that we encounter in our daily lives. We try to focus on how we perceive information and draw inspiration from our own cultures and experiences.

Speaking from personal experience, I loved working with my team. We knew how to organize and distribute the content, although we made some mistakes in repeating material and some were not so responsible when it came to the presentation, however we knew how to give our best. Regarding the other presentations, everyone knew how to do an excellent job in terms of content, audiovisual, it was inspiring, moving, and informative. Clearly there were things with which I was familiar, but many others were not and without a doubt it is always good to learn new things. I feel that something that helps us a lot to learn is the audiovisual material and the person who explains it and I feel that this is something that helps us teenagers a lot, not only because of the fact that everyone knew what they were talking about, But many times it is easier for one to understand certain topics when someone who is contemporary with you explains it to you.

We all learned about things we did not know, we helped each other and together we learned new things thanks to our teacher. Honestly, I do not have any negative comments in mind or anything that I did not like, the contents were interesting, and I find it incredible to learn something new every day with concrete information. I appreciate the chance to learn every day from these types of classes related to my Associate in my college journey. Learning is the basis of everything and without a doubt something that differentiates us from everything else.
